Thank you for the penny…

MassachusettsI am 31 years old. A wife, a mother and I love my family more than I could ever describe. I am eternally grateful for the beautiful and positive impact Rhonda Byrne has had on my life.
I first would like to give as much gratitude as I can possible muster to Rhonda Byrne and the entire Secret Team. These books have changed my life in the most positive way and for that I am grateful for all of your hard work to bring these books into my life.
After reading both The Secret and The Power I was so excited to start reading The Magic. I absorbed every message and chapter like a sponge and wanted to absolutely saturate my life with gratitude.
One day, right around the time of reading the Magic Money chapter I went out shopping. Upon getting out of my car at the store I looked down to find a bright shiny penny. Prior to reading The Magic I had basically given up on exerting energy to retrieve a penny from the ground but that day I felt differently. I thought to myself “here is money at my feet, no matter what the amount, it is here just for my taking and is money that I can take home and put in my change jar and someday put in my bank account.” So I reached down and picked it up and said “Thank you for this penny, thank you, thank you, thank you for this money I’ve been given.” I then went on my way into the store. I was going in for a specific wall hanging that had a price tag of $1.99. There were no sale or clearance signs hanging anywhere and I fully expected to pay the price of $1.99. When I got to the register it rang in at exactly $1.00. I was so excited and grateful because at that moment I realized, my gratitude for the penny had just come back to me – almost one hundred fold – and in a matter of minutes! I was beaming and so thankful for that dollar and I made sure to feel the extreme gratitude and really think about just how amazing this dollar was and what it represented to me.
A day or two later I went to my part time job as an assistant photographer at a wedding. I have done a decent amount of weddings in this capacity and it wasn’t very common to receive any additional compensation than my normal flat rate of pay. However, at the end of the night, the bride came to me with a crisp $100 bill as a tip! The only tip I had received until that point was a generous $25 from another couple so to receive another tip and for $100 was beyond my wildest expectation. In addition, the photographer I was working for gave me an extra $30 on top of what he owed me and said it was for gas mileage. I couldn’t help but feel even more gratitude that money was just coming to me so easily and the amounts kept multiplying and getting larger and larger! I drove home from that wedding holding that $100 bill as if it were a winning million dollar lottery ticket because I was so overjoyed at the amazing generosity I had just experienced and was so thankful to these beautiful people who had gifted me in such a kind way.
The next part actually had me in tears – the week after the wedding, while still heavily reading and practicing The Magic I decided to go through a pile of “junk mail” that I had left sitting on a chair in my office for literally months. I opened each envelope and most of it was able to be torn up and tossed. Until I got to one from my mortgage company. As I opened it up I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that it was a check for $544 being returned to me for an overpayment on my escrows!!!! It was from March and had been sitting on my chair for about 5 months – a month shy of expiring. I could not get to the bank fast enough to deposit that check! I just kept looking at the check and saying “Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!” to the point of tears with so much emotion and gratitude. I felt so amazed and so filled with faith. It is a feeling I can’t even describe in words!
The very next day I received a letter in the mail from a credit card company that we had missed payments on saying that they would be willing to eliminate $4700 worth of our debt in order to work with us and put us on a payment plan to try and clear the rest of the balance. I had intended to call them to work out some sort of plan but kept putting it off until I received this letter that was placed before me making me feel relief and ease before speaking with them. I felt as though there was hope and I also felt that this was as if someone just wrote me a check for $4700 and I was immensely grateful and so appreciative and I felt a level of gratitude that has affected me to my very core.
I am so incredibly grateful and inspired by these occurrences and I feel so truly blessed. I know instances like this are going to continue to awe and inspire me always and they have changed my life in the most positive way imaginable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
