We all have the power to be confident
Submitted by: Kate-Elizabeth.
IrelandI am 18 and am living in Dublin. I was anorexic for most of my teens and so my confidence was quite low and even when I recovered, I found it difficult to gain it back again. After reading The Secret this changed for me.
Hi all,
I’m 18 and have struggled for many years with low self confidence and acceptance. I literally would not go outside the door for fear of somebody thinking I wasn’t pretty or criticizing me in any way. I stayed clear of social events for the same reasons and I went down every avenue health wise, to try and achieve perfectionism. I became obsessed with eating healthily and would intently examine myself every day to find perceived faults.
One morning when I was cleaning, I found The Secret in my cabinet. I had been given it as a present but never looked at it. Mid cleaning I sat on the floor in my room and became enraptured by it. I had the whole thing finished by the next day and began attaching all of its teachings to my life immediately. Without even consciously realising, I began being able to go out and speak to people with confidence, allowing people to tell me I am beautiful, without doubting them. I started to believe I am beautiful and that no matter what anyone else’s views are, nothing is going to take that away from me.
I have learned to just be and to not get so wrapped up in the niggling voices of the mind. Once you free yourself from those voices, life becomes magical and you start to become the person you were meant to be.
The Secret has taught me so much, but the main thing I’ve learned is that I’m not solely here for beauty, I’m here because I’ve so much more to give to the world. I am a being, which means I have been created by love and I must push fourth in life using that love as my guide.
