What goes around… comes around

After purchasing a home with my new partner and excitedly moving my daughter into a new safe neighbourhood, things turned challenging. I wanted my daughter to attend the school in our new neighbourhood but her father, my ex, did not want to cooperate. We have a very acrimonious relationship and he was determined to make things difficult although our daughter was in a school in a terrible neighbourhood. Unfortunately, things could only be resolved by going to court which was stressful, costly and timely. I had already read The Secret and wrote in my journal that my daughter was going to a new school and it would be completed through mediation, not court and I believed.
Unfortunately, the judge sided with my ex and then to make matters worse he moved shortly after the court order, so now our daughter was attending a school in a neighbourhood that neither parent resided in. It was a terrible situation and I felt that I had been punished for moving my daughter into a safe area and I couldnt figure out why. It was a very sad time.
After expending so much money and time and stress fighting this I decided to let it go and let things evolve. I didn’t want things to get worse and I remembered my journal.
Then my ex took me back to court to lower his child support and we were back in court by the end of the school year. The judge suggested mediation and ironically the judge who preceded over the first trial was our mediator! I told her about the changes that had taken place shortly after she had made her decree, and believe me she was not impressed. She made an order for our daughter to go to the school in our neighbourhood and the relief I felt was amazing. It may have taken a year, and it was hard but I got the outcome that I had wanted and I am so very grateful. My little lady is enjoying her new school and she is doing well. Thank you.
