Each day is a step towards my beginning

Hagerstown, MD21 year old college student. With a passion for Ireland and literature.
I just finished reading The Power and saw The Secret a few months ago. Here’s some great things that have happened. I have been wanting to study in Ireland and I applied to a school that would allow me to be in a program. Each night I had dreams of what it would be like, and I gave so much thanks for getting accepted (before I actually did). I submitted my application on April 1, and exactly two weeks later I got my acceptance letter!! I was floored to say the least.
I am working on financial issues to get funding for school, but each day I am thankful for the money I have and for my job. I made myself a universal bank check that has all the money I will need in it to go to school and buy my mom a house, something she’s always wanted. Each day I look at it and imagine what I will do with it and how wonderful life will be. I know when I get to Ireland life will be even greater than it is now.
I also had unexpected surgery for my gallbladder – had to have it removed – but afterward I kept saying, “Thank you so much for my health and life.” I was sore for a day and then after that I was free of pain. I went to the doctors the other day, and while waiting I kept saying, “Thank you for my healthy body. No matter what he says I am thankful.” He walked in, checked the incisions (scars), and said, “This is amazing – you’re healed after two weeks exactly. This is so strange. You must be a fast healer.” I said, “I am just thankful so much for my health.”
I also found out I had a sister who is 16 years older than I am. My dad had a previous marriage before my mom. I saw The Secret and I kept saying, “Thank you for my family and all the great people in my life.” By happenstance one night my family and I were watching a movie and my mom said that my sister did something like one of the characters did… and I was just, “I have a sister?” So I searched for her and had no luck, but kept driving home that I was thankful for her and when I get in contact with her life will be amazing. So one day I get a Facebook request from this girl who had the same first name but a different last name as my sister, so I added her and I asked, “Are you my sister?” And she said, “I think I am…” We talked for a long while and turns out she is my sister and had been searching for me and has had her life changed through The Secret as well. Amazing to know I have a sister who I talk to and it feels like we have known each other forever.
I can’t wait to keep going with this… first thing I learned is I just have to be happy being who I am and being with myself and not giving negative feelings to the world. First and foremost I have to change my stars and be completely happy with this precious life I have been given. I am ever so thankful for each day. Wonderful how life is now. 🙂
