About 7 months ago, before I discovered “The Secret,” a girlfriend and I were at a professional woman’s surfing competition. There were 9 gorgeous surfboards that were donated by some of the world’s most famous and respected board shapers. They were to be raffled off to raise money for the environment. Tickets were selling at $10 a piece. People were buying $400 and $500 worth of tickets because these boards were so amazing and well worth over $1000 each.
On our way to the booth that was selling raffle tickets, we walked by a booth that was selling water which had the phrase “I AM LUCKY” printed on the front. We both happilly bought a bottle and bought $40 worth of raffle tickets each. My girlfriend who had been keen to the Secret for awhile told me to visualize myself with the board that I wanted and to feel like it was already mine. She told me to imagine myself waxing it and holding it and riding it in the water as she did the same.
At the end of the day, they started to raffle off the boards. Mind you, this was a pro surfing competition, so there were hundreds of people there. As the raffle commenced, my girlfriend and I were joyful and happy. We were so full of glee we both couldn’t stop giggling, but we didn’t know why. Then the raffle ticked for the board my girlfriend wanted was drawn. We both held our breath and screamed as her name was called. How exciting! I was so happy for her but wondered if it was really possible for me to walk away with a board if she had already won one. As one of the pro surfers tried to pull her out of the crowd to show her how to attach the fins to the board she said, “Wait for my friend, she’s winning the next board.” The pro surfer looked confused, as did I, but I thought it was nice of her to wait until the ticket for my board had been pulled. As they reached in to draw the ticket out for the surfboard I had been visualizing all day, I felt my heart skip a beat. Then I heard them call my name. I couldn’t believe it! I jumped for joy and ran up to collect my surfboard. I said to my girlfriend, “Wow, what are the odds? I can’t believe how lucky we are.” And she replied, “It wasn’t JUST luck. You manifested it. Own it. YOU made this happen.” Since I had not yet seen or heard of “The Secret” I was not sure what she was talking about, so after we returned home, she let me borrow her copy of “The Secret”.
Since watching “The Secret” I have purposefully manifested many things in my life. Everything from unexpected checks in the mail to parking spaces to consistently hitting green lights while driving, to phone calls from people I hadn’t heard from in years, to meeting the kinds of people I had always wanted to meet, and more…but the biggest manifestation by far just happened a month ago.
I went to Whistler, B.C., Canada for the first time 4 months ago in January and fell in love with that little village surrounded in snow, nestled in the mountains. I wanted to return in April to attend the World Ski and Snowboarding Festival. I had arranged a trip with a few friends to head up north for the festival. As time progressed, my friends slowly discovered that they could not make the trip due to mid-term dates that were unchangeable and employers who would not allow them the time off. My heart sank because I had so been looking forward to returning to Whistler but knew I could not afford to stay in a hotel room alone for a whole week. I could only make the trip if I had someone to share the cost of the room with me. I was feeling really down and became quite negative for a week or so. Then I remembered “The Secret” and decided to watch it again for inspiration. After rewatching “The Secret” I declared that I would be able to afford to travel to Whistler B.C. alone and buy whatever I wanted while I was up there. A few days later I received a loud thought that told me I should go play bingo that night and to bring my favorite picture of Whistler with me. It was strange because the thought did not seem like my own, but I decided to pay attention to it.
I grabbed my favorite postcard from Whistler and headed off to the local casino where they had nightly bingo. As I walked into the bingo hall, my jaw dropped when I read that there were 4 huge bingo progressive jackpots, the largest of which was $40,000. I had never seen such a large payout for bingo before. They are progressive because each of those games will only pay out the jackpot award if you can black out your entire bingo card by the time a certain amount of numbers is called (which is not easy to do). No one had won any of the jackpots in quite some time, so they had all accumulated. I made it my intent to win one of those jackpots. The attendants at the hall say that I’m lucky because everytime I play, I’ll win a game or two and come home with a little over $1000.
Mid-way through the session, one of the attendants came up to me and said, “What’s going on? You haven’t won any games yet. You’re usually on your second win by now.” I looked up at her, smiled, and said, “Oh, nothing’s wrong. I’m just waiting for the big one.” She chuckled and walked away.
Finally the game for the first big jackpot commenced. I decided not to concentrate on the game since I had already asked the universe for the money by intending it. Instead, I started to act as though I had already received it. I held up the postcard of Whistler and stared intently at it. I started to visualize myself walking in the snow, feeling the cold air on my neck, seeing dozens of incredible snowboarders and skiiers performing tricks in the air, meeting with people I had met the first time I had gone up and telling them how I was able to afford the trip up. Then I saw myself walking in to all the stores and buying whatever I wanted and telling all the clerks I had won a large amount of money playing bingo.
During this particular game, you had to black out your card once the 55th ball was called. I noticed that the 53rd ball had been called, so I stopped visualizing and returned to the game. I needed two more numbers to black out my card, which meant that the next two numbers that were called had to match the two on my card exactly. Because I had been visualizing I had already received the money, I KNEW my numbers would be called and felt no stress or worry. The 54th number matched mine. Then the 55th number was called…BINGO!!! I blacked out my entire card. The whole bingo hall turned to see who had won the jackpot, and I couldn’t stop smiling as the caller announced to the crowd that I had just won $11,000.
I made it up to Whistler and had a blast. I have made it my mission to introduce all those I love and care for to “The Secret” and to encourage them to manifest the life they have always wanted to live. I do my best to help them feel good, as doing so makes me feel good and I continue to manifest little miracles every day. Since learning about “The Secret” I’ve learned that nothing is impossibe. “Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.” I no longer see limitations. I only see possibilities. On to bigger and better manifestations! =)
