One College Girl’s Miracle

Seymour, WisconsinI am 20 years old and have lived in poverty my whole life. I'm still searching for a job, but am attending a local tech college to be an Early Childhood Education teacher. I learned about the Secret from my boyfriend. I have a severe depression disorder and he is aware of it. He caught on to my negative thoughts and showed me this movie. Little did I know my life was about to change.
I was just starting my first semester at a tech college. I had no savings to speak of, not a dime to my name and I was growing depressed. I signed up for a payment plan and needed over $300 in a month and my financial aid information kept getting tossed around. I had to keep filling out all these forms and as I saw each new form I grew more depressed. Days were going by and I didn’t think I would have the money in time. I was breaking down crying about three times a day over this college bill and thought getting aid was a hopeless idea. Counselors at the college told me to me borrow it from a friend, like it was just $5, and there is no way I would have the aid in time.
Suddenly I remembered one of the teachers in The Secret used White Out on his bill. I ran to the kitchen and pulled out White Out. I made my bill say that I owed $0.00 and had $1,700 (my bill’s total) anticipated aid. Less than a week later I logged onto my student e-mail account and saw a message from the financial aid office. About 2 weeks before I needed the money I was awarded a Pell grant for $2,775! I didn’t owe the school a dime!
There’s even more to it. I never get to spend money on myself, because as soon as I have money, it has to go towards school or for my pet kitten who I love too much to get rid of. That same week, a neighbor asked me to babysit for her. For months, I’ve been wanting to pre-order a video game I’ve been eagerly waiting for. I didn’t think I was going to have enough in time, but sure enough I earned enough babysitting money to pre-order my game! The night I used White Out on my bill, I printed off a picture of the game’s box. I studied that picture and asked for it (my inspiration was the boy with the bike in the movie The Secret). At the time I was also struggling to pay for lunch on campus. I got an e-mail saying I qualified for a new free lunch program. I was expecting a sandwich and juice box, but when I asked what I needed to do to start the free lunch program, they gave me a grocery bag full of things to eat-including ravioli which I was craving that day.
All I can say is now I am for a 100% fact a firm believer in the Secret.
